I am so inspired by everyone’s amazing lists. I can’t wait to get back to school and check to see what new titles I will need to add! That being said, here is my list. I don’t have a theme, just books I discovered last year that I am pumped to share with you!
1. Shhh! We have a plan (Chris Haughton)

  

  

I love reading this book with the Kinders! The pattern allows them to “read” along with me and anticipate (predict) the next part! So much fun to read and the illustrations are fabulous!
2. Moustache Baby and Mustache Baby Meets His Match (Bridget Heos)

   
    

 These books show that we all have “evil” days. It illustrates that we need to learn from our bad days. Loads of fun to read with all grades!
3. Those magnificent Sheep in their Flying Machine (Peter Bentley)

  
  

What happens when a herd of sheep accidentally borrow an airplane and they travel the world? It’s absolutely hilarious to read!
4. Madame Martine (Sarah S. Brannen)

  
  

Madame Martine leads a very routine driven life. But when she rescues a lost puppy, she discovers a lot about her hometown of Paris!
5. Je Compte Jusqu’à Trois (Émile Bédard)

  
  

I do teach in a French Immersion school and had to include this one! I love it because a “kid” lives with Dad who is always in a rush. And Dad always says “I’m going to count to 3”. In the end, the kid explains that dad should come to his school where he could learn to count to 10.
6.Gus and Me: The Story of My Grandad and My First Guitar (Keith Richards)

  
  

Keith Richards tells the story of how his Grandfather introduced him to playing guitar! Great story about how we all start out learning in order to achieve greatness!
7. Cent enfants imaginent comment changer le monde (Jennifer Couëlle)

  
  

An amazing French book where 100 children were asked what they would do to change the world. Such a delight to read!
8. The Day The Crayons Quit

  
  

I love, love, love this book! Love teaching about letter writing and persuasive writing!!!
9. Press Here (Hervé Tullet)

  
  

If you haven’t seen this book- it is a must! So interactive and fun to read!
10. Ode To Underwear (Helaine Becker)

  
  

This book cracks me up everytime I read it! So much imagination on a subject we don’t always want to chat about- but really- what does our underwear do when we aren’t around???
